2016 Nissan Altima new and improved features
The Nissan Altima has continually seen sales grow over the last few years, so it’s no surprise the 2016 model will feature top-of-the-line design, performance, and technology elements. The 2016 Altima will have an updated exterior design, interior enhancements, and improved drivetrain components under the hood.
Updated exterior design
The front and back ends of the 2016 Altima have been redesigned and reshaped to resemble Nissan’s new Maxima. Front changes include a deep V-shaped grille with chrome and lower bumper, while rear changes include new taillights, bumper, and trunk lid.
On the inside of the 2016 Altima, drivers will notice the new center stack and new cup holders. Although not many changes are being made to the new Altima’s interior, the 2015 model had plenty of first-rate features to offer, such as Zero Gravity front seats on all trims.
Improved drivetrain components
The 2016 Altima will offer the same engine options as the 2015 model. The 2.5-liter option is expected to have an EPA-estimated one MPG improvement for highway fuel economy. The change can be attributed to active grille shutters, reduced engine friction, and greater compression ratio. The other engine option is a 3.5-liter V6, and both engine options come with Nissan’s impressive Xtronic CVT.
