2017 Nissan Rogue SV vs 2017 Nissan Rogue SL

Serving Warsaw, Elkhart, and Fort Wayne, IN

The 2017 Nissan Rogue is one of the top-selling SUVs in the crowded crossover class. For this model year, the Rogue has undergone an exterior and interior refresh. If you’re considering the 2017 Rogue, here’s what you need to know about the mid-range SV trim and the top-of-the-line SL trim.

Performance

Both the 2017 Rogue SV and the SL trims are equipped with a 2.4-liter engine providing 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Both deliver respectable fuel economy numbers at 26 mpg city / 33 mpg highway.* Depending on your preference, you can toggle between Eco and Sport modes to adjust suspension and handling. Both vehicles come standard with front-wheel drive with intelligent all-wheel drive as an optional upgrade. Smart cruise control is available as an option on the SV only.

Appearance

The SV and SL trims are similar in appearance. However, the SV is equipped with 17″ x 7.0″ aluminum-alloy wheels while the SL upgrades to 18″ x 7.0″ aluminum-alloy wheels with the option to choose 19″. Both have smart halogen headlights, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights, but only the SL trim comes with fog lights. On the SV, you can choose to add black heated outside mirrors with LED turn signal indicators and black roof rails, neither of which are available on the SL. A convenient motion-activated power liftgate is standard on the SL and an available option on the SV. This makes the most of the Rogue’s ample cargo space, featuring a unique storage system that keeps you organized. Both the Rogue SV and SL can seat up to five, or seven if you opt to add third-row seats. Above-average leg room makes the 2017 Nissan Rogue a comfortable ride for drivers and passengers of all sizes near Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The SL is a step up from the SV when it comes to technology, with standard NissanConnect infotainment system and 7″ touch screen with voice recognition (both optional on the SL). Siri Eyes Free comes standard on both, as do dual-zone automatic climate control and Nissan’s intelligent key system.

Safety

With Nissan’s excellent reputation for safe vehicles, it’s no wonder that the Rogue is designated as a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute on Highway Safety. Both the SV and SL are equipped with safety equipment including vehicle-dynamic traction control, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind spot warning. Only Rogue SL drivers, however, can choose to add optional advanced driver assist features, including lane departure warning and prevention, intelligent forward emergency braking, and pedestrian detection. Moving object detection is standard on the SL and optional on the SV. The SV features a rearview monitor, while the SL is equipped with Nissan’s class-exclusive Around-View monitor.
