When it comes to choosing a new car, your task isn’t over after you’ve chosen a make, model, and year. Since most models offer multiple trim options, you must decide which trim offers the features you need and want in a car. The 2016 Nissan Maxima has four different trims, and here’s what you can expect from each one.
The Maxima S trim is the most basic option, but it still has a lot to offer. It comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, which delivers 300 horsepower and an EPA-estimated 30 MPG on the highway. The S trim is equipped with 18-inch machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels and LED Daytime Running Lights. In terms of technology, the Maxima S comes standard with Advanced Drive-Assist Display, NissanConnect with Navigation, Bluetooth capability, and Nissan Intelligent Key with Remote Engine Start. The Maxima S interior has cloth seat trim, foldable 60/40-split rear seats, eight speakers, and two USB ports. Safety features include RearView Monitor, Nissan Advanced Air Bag System, and Vehicle Dynamic Control.
In addition to the S trim features, the 2015 Nissan Maxima SV includes leather-appointed seats, lumbar and thigh support for the driver, heated front seats, and more. The SV trim has heated outside mirrors with turn signal indicators as well as front and rear sonar system for added protection.
In addition to the components included in the SV trim, the Maxima SR offers a wide array of extra elements. For starters, the SR trim rides on 19-inch diamond-cut, machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels. Other added features include paddle shifters, LED low-beam headlights, Intelligent Cruise Control, adjustable interior LED lighting, heated and cooled front seats, and more. For an even more luxurious interior, the SR trim comes with Premium Ascot leather-appointed seats and steering wheel with Alcantara inserts as well as an 11-speaker Bose audio system. Safety technologies include Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, and Forward Emergency Braking.
The 2016 Maxima Platinum comes with most of the features included in the SR trim as well as several additional components. The most notable additions fall under the safety category and include Around View Monitor, Driver Attention Alert, and Moving Object Detection. Other added features are Premium Ascot leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted leather inserts and Mahogany wood-tone faceted trim.
